i don't want to believe that poetry is a dead, lost art. i have so little to convince me otherwise.

where are the open mics?

where is the living word (a beautiful sequence of eloquence or the spewings of rotting minds)?

i don't take myself so seriously... are poets today required to be pretentious?

tell me where to go to read and hear poems worthy of an ear!

I truly don't believe it is a dead, lost art. I sometimes feel that Portland isn't the happening place for it. In part your quest is a big reason I created this community.

I would check out http://www.myspace.com/poetryportland as folkhero seems to be doing something for Poetry in Portland.

i've been posting poetry on livejournal for years. the intarweb venue is not nearly as stimulating as hearing the spoken word. i guess i knew more about where to go for that
